About us
IPPIN supports local innovators to design, test, and scale solutions to plastic pollution across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
What is IPPIN?
IPPIN (Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network) is a CSIRO-led innovation initiative funded by the Australian Government. We connect science, entrepreneurship, and local insight to reduce plastic waste and enable circular economies across the region.
Our story
IPPIN is a collaborative regional network designed to bridge the gap between research, entrepreneurship, and investment to redefine the plastic lifecycle and create a circular economy.
Recognising plastic waste knows no borders, the network host Chapters in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam with emerging Chapters in Laos and Cambodia.
Since IPPIN’s launch in 2022, we’ve supported 162 teams across 15 countries and engaged 4,000+ participants globally to scale-up sustainable and innovative products and technologies.
Together we are creating a greener, more inclusive and sustainable world.
IPPIN is supported by the Australian Government and implemented by Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO in partnership with governments in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Our purpose
Reimagining the future of plastics.
About 400 million tonnes of plastic waste is produced every year.
Together with partners, we aim to support the design and scale-up of disruptive technologies to shift the dial on plastic waste across the Indo-Pacific region.
