Research Center for Sustainable Industrial and Manufacturing Systems, National Research and Innovation Agency

Our research center focuses on investigating the sustainable utilization of plastics throughout their entire life cycle, from cradle to grave. We particularly assess the potential environmental impacts, including global warming, energy consumption, toxicity, and more.

Our activities include life cycle studies of bioplastics and sustainability assessments of low-value plastics for construction materials. In addition to publishing in international journals, we have also developed a copyrighted dataset inventory of plastics, which could serve as a national database in the future.

Furthermore, we collaborate with the Anthropocene Monument in Yogyakarta under a grant from IPPIN CSIRO to evaluate the environmental impacts of plastic waste recycling for applications such as brick walls, floor tiles, and other construction purposes.
