Beat the Sachet

Beat The Sachet is an initiative aimed at combating ocean microplastics caused by single-use plastic sachets. The project promotes refill and reuse as a sustainable alternative. By introducing refillable bottles to replace shampoo sachets, particularly in marginalised and low-income communities, Beat The Sachet provides consumers with 100ml reusable bottles for shampoo, enabling them to access refill services. Their pilot project in India successfully prevented approximately 5,000 sachets from entering the waste stream monthly. Now, the initiative aims to adapt and implement this solution in Vietnam, addressing the country’s specific context and further reducing plastic waste and protecting the environment.
